Welcome to the floating suburb of the city of Dubrovnik itself, the island of ŠIPAN, in the village of Suđurađ. The island has frequent connections to the city and islands nearby (Kolocep, Lopud, Mljet). All apartments are equipped with air-conditioning, kitchen, terrace/balcony with a sea view.
The island of Ĺ ipan belongs to a group of 13 islands and islets named Elaphite Islands. Nature endowed these charming Mediterranean islands with lush subtropical vegetation, a mild climate, easily accessible coast and characteristic landscape; over the centuries, history has also provided an architectural heritage.
We are situated between Dubrovnik, the island of Mljet and Peljesac Peninsula.
Information about the island:
The islands surface is 16.5 km sq. Two main villages (Sudjuradj and Luka Sipanska ) were founded in hidden little bays, situated opposite another. In between them there is a 5 km long fertile field. Lots of smaller villages are hidden inside, ones you can reach by walking along the pathways through olive-yards.
Around this area you will find historical monuments such as the16th Century summer residences of noblemen of the former Republic of Dubrovnik, three of which are right situated in Sudjuradj (one open for the public.) Other interesting places to visit include Benedictine Monastery, Rectors palace, Bishops palace, a selection of 32 Croatian chapels dating from 7th – 11th Cenutury, a 16th Century church-fortress. So many things to explore might intrigue you to discover the forgotten stories of the island!
There are 450 inhabitants living constantly throughout the year on the island. That number rises up to 1000 in the summer time. To earn a living, people mostly combine fishing, working in the land and tourism all according to the season.
There are several restaurants situated in the village itself but there are also self catering abilities available in the apartment. Fresh fish is available to get from local fishermen as well as vegetables on our little open market, fruit, cow or goat cheese, vine, olive oil…Try to imagine tomatoes which taste ...uhm like real tomatoes - you'll know what I’m talking about when you get here!
A beach suitable for children is about 100 meters away .The sea temperature varies around 25*C (77 * F.) Children are free and safe to play in the square where they can meet lots of local kids of their age.
Bikes are available to rent in the village.
Diving club is situated in the village of Sipanska Luka.
There is a doctor on the island as well.
About the apartments...well it’s just a place to crash, don’t you think? Who would like to spend a day indoors when sun is simply calling out for you? We are sure you will find your rock under the pine tree to enjoy your afternoon nap in the shade whilst crickets sing the most beautiful songs. (Ok, ok...I admit these songs become annoying after a while, if only everything could be perfect...)

It is only 10-15 minutes walking distance far from the Old City and the beach called Banje.
If you want to take a bus from the center, from the bus terminal and the port of Gruž you can use the bus number 8 (eight) which is in a circle way from the cener to the apartment.
The bus stop is about 50 meters near the apartment. The parking is on the street gratis.

Apartment Bruna is an integral part of the family house which is owned and managed solely by the family members. The house originates from the 16th century and it is protected by the organization for heritage preservation. Apartment is recently newly renovated and refurnished with a special care for details.
Apartment has two bedrooms. Second room is open type of the room because it is placed on the gallery on the upper floor. Apartment has large kitchen and it is very well equipped. Dining area and small toillette are on the first floor. Bathroom is on the second floor. Also there is a big sofa in the living room which has been useed for sleeping (for 2 persons). We have private parking space for our guests.
Aslo, house has a large garden in a renaissance style surrounded by ancient walls. Our guests can also use barbeque facilities within the garden in a small summer house where you can set a fire and enjoy a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere not far from where the entertainment and night life are.
